One powerful thing I have learned through my experiences, both beautiful and heart wrenching, is that the magic of growth often evolves out of our most messy moments. There have been parts of my life that have brought me to my knees and these moments have also ended up being some of the greatest catalysts for me. They have allowed for me to discover more of who I am and what I have to contribute to this world.
I have a deep love and passion for helping youth, young adults and women to discover ways to increase their sense of wellbeing, successes, capabilities, and deeper understanding and care of self.
When we collectively strive for growth, compassion, unity and inclusivity we can change the world.
My journey has taught me that setbacks or struggles are often the platform for growth and new perspectives. They create unforeseeable opportunity for realignment to self. My dear friend terms this so simply as, a "growth spurt," and that is exactly how it often feels! I know that every single lived moment matters, and they create the unique building blocks that make up who each of us are. I honor this in all humans.
Three key things that I have learned along the way and believe in deeply are:
I began my professional journey in the mental health arena as a licensed therapist, providing direct services, therapy, crisis intervention, case management to adults, children, teens on probation and in the school systems and within acute mental health. I have also been fortunate to hold several executive leadership roles where I have been able to lead program analysis and creation, as well as support the development of other leaders and therapeutic providers.
Over time, my vision of my role in the helping profession has morphed and evolved. Once I became a Certified Life Coach, I discovered that this was just another beautiful approach to serving and supporting people. I feel very fortunate for the opportunity to combine all of my training and experience to be able to offer therapeutic support when there is a mental health need or past wounds to heal, but also wellness and transitional life coaching for those seeking to meet their goals and create more alignment in their lives.
It is the best of both worlds for me to help serve women and youth in both capacities, depending on an individual's needs. You will find that I am compassionate, respectful, inclusive, transparent, and direct. Practices I am trained in and use often include Internal Family Systems, Somatic Experiencing, Integrative Somatic Trauma practices, mindfulness/meditation, Brainspotting, CBT, Value exploration, DBT practices, and Positive Psychology. Our bodies desire to operate in its healthiest form, let me help you discover what that is for you.
Striving for more and living a wholehearted life, takes intention, vulnerability, exploration and a commitment to considering new ideas, approaches and patterns. Research professor and thought leader, Brene Brown, defines wholehearted living as engaging in our lives from a place of worthiness. This means cultivating the courage, compassion, and connection to support the belief that you are enough exactly as you are.
If you aren't sure whether coaching or therapy would be best for you, I am happy to chat with you and let's figure it out! There are some situations where coaching would not be the best way for me to support you and if this is the case, I would be very transparent about that. I come from a place of honoring everyone, in the stage in which their journey is in.
My commitment to you, as your coach or your therapist, is to provide you with support, accountability, compassion, tools, and insights to help set the platform for you to feel clear about what you need, who you are and want to be, how you feel and how deserving you are to feel whole and satisfied in your life. You are stronger than you know, and you are not alone.
